Dr. Therese Fahner may be new to the AHA team, but not to veterinary medicine or the Ada/Forest Hills area. She is a proud Forest Hills Northern graduate, and worked in several area veterinary clinics during high school and through her undergraduate studies. Dr. Fahner studied Zoology at Michigan State University before staying on to receive her DVM degree from the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine. *Fun Fact: She was classmates with Dr. Denison!
After graduating, she started her career in the beautiful Upper Peninsula just outside of Marquette. Having experienced the pristine wilderness (and some intense winters!) in the UP, she then moved south and worked at a small animal clinic in Appleton, Wisconsin. It was there that Dr. Fahner really cultivated her love of surgery and dentistry. She is so excited to return to her hometown, and to be a part of the close relationships between the doctors, staff, clients, and pets at Ada Hospital for Animals. Dr. Fahner lives with two fantastic felines, Dixon and Dorian, who were both shelter pets she worked with while in Wisconsin (naturally, they are both Packers fans). In her free time, she loves reading, going to movies, enjoying the outdoors, and traveling to as many places as possible. Some of her favorite destinations have been Japan, Scotland, and Tanzania.
